Osho Teerth Park
Osho Teerth is a landscaped garden of streams, bamboo groves and meditation spaces beside the Osho International Meditation Resort in Koregaon Park, Pune.
What It Is and Its History
Osho Teerth park is a public garden maintained by the Osho International Meditation Resort. It opened in the early 1990s as a space for quiet reflection and nature walks. The park covers about 7 acres and is designed around a series of water channels, small ponds and bamboo thickets. It sits next to the meditation resort's main campus in Koregaon Park, a leafy neighbourhood east of Pune's centre.
The garden was created as a complement to the resort's indoor meditation halls. Its layout follows principles of Zen and Japanese garden design, with winding paths, stone bridges and carefully placed boulders. The name 'Teerth' means a pilgrimage site or sacred crossing. The park is open to the public, not only to resort guests, and offers an escape from the busy streets of Koregaon Park.
What to See
The park's main feature is its network of shallow streams and water channels that flow through the grounds. Bamboo groves line the paths, providing shade and a rustling soundtrack. Small stone bridges cross the water at several points. A central pond with lotus plants attracts birds and dragonflies. Benches are placed along the walkways for sitting and watching the water.
Sculptures and meditation bells are scattered around the garden. A large Buddha statue sits near one of the ponds. The landscaping uses native and exotic plants, including ferns, cycads and flowering shrubs. The paths are paved and easy to walk. There are no buildings inside the park except for a small entrance booth and a restroom block. The overall atmosphere is calm and orderly.

How to Get There
Osho Teerth park is on North Main Road in Koregaon Park. From Pune Junction railway station, it is about 4 km by road. A taxi or auto-rickshaw takes 15 to 25 minutes depending on traffic. The Pune Metro Aqua Line has a station at Kalyani Nagar, about 1.7 km away. From there you can walk or take a short rickshaw ride. The nearest bus stops are on North Main Road and on the road to Kalyani Nagar.
If you are driving, the park has limited parking on the street. Koregaon Park is a residential area with narrow lanes, so parking can be difficult during peak hours. It is easier to arrive by rickshaw or taxi. The entrance is a white gate with a sign for the Osho International Meditation Resort. The park is separate from the resort's main entrance, which is further down the same road.
When to Go and How Long to Allow
The park is open every day except for certain festival dates and maintenance days. The best time to visit is early morning, between sunrise and 9 am, when the light is soft and the crowds are thin. Late afternoon, from 4 pm to sunset, is also pleasant. The park can be busy on weekends. Monsoon months, from June to September, make the greenery lush and the streams full, but paths can be slippery.
Most visitors spend 30 to 60 minutes walking the paths and sitting by the water. The park is not large, so you can cover the main areas in half an hour. If you want to meditate or read, allow an hour. The park closes at sunset, so plan your visit accordingly. Check the current opening hours on the resort's notice board or website before you go.
