ArrivalAt an airport or seaport designated for e-Visa arrivals

Turkmen citizens are eligible for the Indian e-Visa. You apply online at indianvisaonline.gov.in. The e-Visa covers tourism, business and medical visits. You must arrive at a designated airport or seaport. Check the official site for the latest requirements before you travel.

What the e-Visa means

The Indian e-Visa allows Turkmen citizens to visit India without visiting an embassy. You submit your application and documents online. If approved, you receive an electronic travel authorisation by email. Print it and carry it with your passport.

The e-Visa is linked to your passport number. You must use the same passport when you travel. The authorisation is valid for a limited period. Check the official site for the current validity and number of entries allowed.

Before you travel

Complete the online application on indianvisaonline.gov.in at least a few days before your trip. You need a digital photo and a scanned copy of your passport's bio page. Pay the visa fee online using a credit or debit card.

Wait for the approval email. Once you receive the electronic travel authorisation, check that all details are correct. Print at least two copies. Keep one copy separate from your passport.

Arriving in India

You must arrive at an Indian airport or seaport that accepts e-Visa holders. Major airports include Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru. On arrival, go to the e-Visa counter. An immigration officer will process your entry.

The officer will take your fingerprints and a photograph. This is standard for all e-Visa arrivals. Your passport will be stamped with an entry permit. The permit shows the dates you are allowed to stay.

Staying longer, working or studying

The e-Visa is for short stays. It does not allow you to work or study. If you need to work in India, you must apply for an employment visa. For study, apply for a student visa. These require a separate application through the Indian embassy.

For any visa category, check the official site indianvisaonline.gov.in or contact the Indian embassy in Ashgabat. Visa rules can change. Always confirm the current requirements before you apply.
