ArrivalAt an airport or seaport designated for e-Visa arrivals

Polish citizens can visit India using the e-Visa system. You apply entirely online, before you travel. The e-Visa covers tourism, short business trips, and medical visits. You must arrive at a designated airport or seaport. The official site is indianvisaonline.gov.in. Check it for the latest requirements and allowed ports of entry.

What the e-Visa means for you

The Indian e-Visa for Polish citizens is an electronic travel authorisation. You do not visit an embassy. You apply, pay, and receive the document by email. Print it and carry it with your passport. The e-Visa is linked electronically to your passport number.

You may use the e-Visa for tourism, casual business visits, or medical treatment. It is not a work visa or a study visa. The e-Visa is valid only for entry at specific airports and seaports. Check the official site for the current list of designated ports.

Before you travel and on arrival

Apply online at indianvisaonline.gov.in at least a few days before your departure. You need a digital photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online. Wait for the electronic travel authorisation by email. Print the approval.

On arrival at an Indian airport, go to the e-Visa counter. The immigration officer will take your fingerprints and a photograph. This is the biometric registration. Keep the stamped entry slip in your passport. You must depart from an e-Visa-designated port.

Arriving in big cities and travelling between them

You can enter India at major airports such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Goa. From there you can take domestic flights, trains, or buses to other cities. The e-Visa does not restrict your movement within India.

You may also arrive at certain seaports including Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi, and Mangaluru. If you enter by sea, the same e-Visa rules apply. For travel between Indian cities, no additional visa is needed. Your passport and the e-Visa approval serve as your travel documents.

Staying longer, working or studying

The e-Visa is for short stays only. If you want to stay longer, work, or study in India, you need a different visa category. Apply for a regular visa through the Indian embassy in Poland. The e-Visa cannot be extended or converted to another visa type.

For business activities beyond casual meetings, apply for a Business Visa. For study, apply for a Student Visa. For employment, apply for an Employment Visa. Check the official site indianvisaonline.gov.in or contact the Indian embassy in Warsaw for the correct procedure.

How to apply for the e-Visa

  1. Go to indianvisaonline.gov.in and fill in the online application form.
  2. Upload a digital photograph of yourself and a scan of your passport bio page.
  3. Pay the visa fee online using a credit or debit card.
  4. Wait for the electronic travel authorisation to arrive by email.
  5. Print the e-Visa approval and carry it with your passport when you travel.
